Mission Rwanda 2010

A mission team will be headed to Rwanda on June 30 for 15 days to work and fellowship in the village of Bigogwe.  A major focus of the trip will be the installation of the water harvest system at Trinity School.  Please keep this team in your prayers!

Change4Change Collection for the Bigogwe Water Project! February 21

Kids in BigogweThe change in your pocket can make a difference in Bigogwe!

Do you have:

  • loose change in your office desk draw?
  • foriegn bills and coins left over from trips overseas?
  • a small fortune under the cushions of your couch?
  • stray coins in the bottom of your purse?
  • a year's worth of bottles and cans in the basement waiting to be taken to recycle?
  • overflowing change in the ash tray and cup holders of your car?
  • years of change collected in your nightstand?
  • a collection of coins fished out of the dryer lint trap?

Let's have a loose change round-up and help supply clean water to the children of Bigogwe!

Lack of clean water is the #1 cause of health problems in Bigogwe, but we can do something about it.

We will have a very noisy collection at church on February 21 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Bigogwe Water Harvesting System project to be installed by the Rwanda Missions team next summer. You can read all about it at http://aaronblackwell.wordpress.com.

 (p.s.  Paper makes noise too!)

The Bigogwe Trust January 2009 Newletter

Some time ago, I made contact with Dr. James Derrick of The Bigogwe Trust, which is a UK based charity that has been working in Bigogwe for years.  I don't know his whole story yet, but Dr. Derrick lived in Rwanda for an extended period many years ago so has ties to the country and specifically to the Shyria/Kivu areas.
